iPhone Car Keys Support Coming to More Audi Vehicles

Apple is expanding its digital car key feature, with planned support for select Audi vehicles in China. This expansion focuses on Audi's collaboration with FAW, a Chinese partner that manufactures and sells Audi cars. The specific Audi models gaining this feature remains undisclosed by Apple. Last month, SAIC-Audi, another Chinese collaboration, also implemented car key support for its EVs. Car Keys, introduced in 2022, allows iPhones and Apple Watches to unlock compatible vehicles via the Wallet app. Unlocking occurs by holding the device near the NFC reader, with an optional Express Mode for faster access. Apple announced at WWDC 2025 that Audi, among thirteen other brands, would soon integrate car key support. Existing car key support is available in vehicles from BMW, Genesis, Kia, and other brands.
