iPhone Duo's A20 Pro Chip Benchmarked Ahead of Launch
An early Geekbench 7 benchmark reveals that the upcoming iPhone Duo will offer performance comparable to the iPhone 18 Pro. Both devices are powered by Apple's new 2nm A20 Pro chip, featuring a 6-core CPU and a 7-core GPU. The benchmarked iPhone Duo achieved a single-core score of 3986 and a multi-core score of 11067. These scores are consistent with those seen on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models. The iPhone Duo's A20 Pro chip has a 6-core CPU with a base frequency of 4.93GHz, identical to its iPhone 18 Pro counterparts. The benchmark also indicates 11.30GB of memory, translating to 12GB of RAM for the iPhone Duo. While the core chip is the same, real-world performance differences could arise from thermal management and the dual-screen design of the iPhone Duo. Apple claims the A20 Pro delivers up to 20 percent faster CPU and 40 percent faster GPU performance than the A19 Pro. The GPU performance was not specifically tested in this benchmark. Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo begin on October 16, with a public release scheduled for October 23.
