Israeli forces intercept Gaza-bound aid ship carrying Greta Thunberg

Israel intercepted the Gaza-bound "Madleen" yacht carrying Greta Thunberg and other activists. The yacht, also carrying actor Liam Cunningham, was diverted to Israel. The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated the crew would return to their home countries. The ship, raising awareness of Gaza's humanitarian crisis, carried aid like baby formula and medical supplies. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition accused Israel of kidnapping the crew. Rima Hassan, a European Parliament member on board, claimed the Israeli army arrested the crew in international waters. The Israeli Foreign Ministry said everyone was unharmed and provided with food and water. The ministry dismissed the voyage as a publicity stunt involving celebrities. A Freedom Flotilla organizer claimed Israel lacks legal authority to detain the volunteers. The organizer also claimed the seizure violates international law.
