JPMorgan: Foldable iPhone to Launch in September 2026

JPMorgan predicts Apple will release its first foldable iPhone in September 2026, as part of the iPhone 18 lineup. This aligns with ongoing market rumors about the device's launch. The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to lack significant upgrades, diverting investor attention to the 2026 releases. The anticipated foldable iPhone will reportedly cost $1,999 and represents a substantial $65 billion market opportunity for Apple. JPMorgan forecasts sales of approximately 45 million foldable iPhones by 2028, beginning with millions in 2027. This launch is expected to significantly impact the foldable smartphone market, which is projected to reach 19 million units in 2025. The foldable iPhone is rumored to feature a 7.8-inch inward-folding display with minimal crease. It will also include a 5.5-inch external display and a titanium chassis. Durability will be enhanced by a hinge incorporating Liquid Metal. The device is expected to have two rear cameras and utilize Touch ID instead of Face ID.
