Kia's budget EV2 arrives with up to 240 miles of range

Kia introduced its new EV2, an entry-level electric vehicle with a boxy design reminiscent of the Soul, but slightly smaller. It's built on the E-GMP platform, positioning it as an accessible entry point into electric mobility. The EV2 will have two battery options offering different ranges, but the range is not very competitive. Charging speeds are also slower compared to some rivals, despite supporting V2G and V2L charging. Inside, the "Picnic Box" interior offers ample space with a generous screen setup for infotainment. The EV2 includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 5-inch climate display, and manual controls. It also features ambient lighting and multiple USB-C ports with fast charging capabilities. Production begins in Q1, with deliveries starting later in the year in Europe and other markets. Currently, Kia has no plans to bring the EV2 to the United States market.
