Shinichirō Watanabe's new anime, Lazarus, will premiere on Adult Swim. The show debuts April 5th at midnight and streams on Max the following day. Lazarus follows a task force hunting a mad scientist who created a deadly drug. The drug, Hapna, is a painkiller with a lethal three-year delayed effect. The Lazarus team seeks a cure to counteract the drug's deadly side effects. The series features a sci-fi setting and jazzy music reminiscent of Cowboy Bebop. Action sequences are choreographed by Chad Stahelski. The plot draws inspiration from the opioid crisis and climate change. Watanabe's previous work includes Carole & Tuesday and the iconic Cowboy Bebop. Fans eagerly anticipate Lazarus's release after a period of waiting.
