LG's 'Aerominum' Gram Pro laptops feel impossibly light and strong

LG's Gram Pro laptops are getting a major redesign, focusing on weight reduction and durability. The new models utilize an aluminum/magnesium alloy called "Aerominum," allowing for a remarkably light build. The 16-inch Gram Pro weighs only 2.6 pounds, achieving a similar weight to the 13-inch MacBook Air. The laptop's 16-inch 2.8K OLED screen is nice visually, while it also boasts Intel's new Panther Lake chips and dual NVMe SSD support. The reviewer praised the significantly improved build quality, noting a reduction in flex compared to older models. However, the keyboard's shallow key travel resulted in an unresponsive typing experience. The trackpad was considered adequate but not as refined as competitors. LG also released a 17-inch Gram Pro, which is the lightest in its size with an NVIDIA RTX GPU (5050). The 17-inch model weighs 3.8 pounds despite the more powerful graphics card. The 17" model should be capable of playing games at its native resolution. Overall, the new Gram Pro models seem like a step forward in balancing lightweight design with usability.
