Local cloud enhancement associated with urban morphology: evidence from observations and idealized large-eddy simulations

Using cloud observations from 44 US cities and large-eddy simulations, this study shows that taller buildings strengthen urban-breeze updrafts, while denser buildings suppress vertical turbulence, together reshaping moisture transport and cloud formation in urban environments.
