M5 Ultra Mac Studio Could Launch in 2026 With Up to 768GB of RAM
Apple intends to release a new Mac Studio this year despite recent price hikes across its Mac lineup. This updated Mac Studio is expected to feature the upcoming M5 Ultra chip, signaling the end of the M5 generation. Following the M5 Ultra, Apple will transition to the M6 and then the M7 series with Pro and Max variants. The M5 Ultra chip is anticipated to boast around 36 CPU cores and 80 GPU cores, a slight increase from the M3 Ultra. Apple has tested configurations with up to 768GB of unified memory for the new Mac Studio. However, memory chip supply issues and price increases have already caused delays for this refresh. Originally slated for an earlier 2026 release, the Mac Studio launch was postponed. Current M3 Ultra Mac Studio models already have delivery estimates extending into October. If Apple manages to offer 768GB RAM in the new model, its price could exceed $10,000 due to component costs.
