Hall volunteered from 2017 to November 2023, two months after Cusack's death on September 20, 2023. He believed players would seek his help as a "last resort." Cusack spoke to him multiple times in August 2023, specifically on August 23. Hall stated she asked him "three or four times" not to reveal their discussions. He also noted that Cusack struggled to manage two jobs. Cusack was found dead at her home in September 2023.
