Mario Kart World for Switch 2 borrows Forza's rewind feature

Mario Kart World, a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title, was extensively showcased in a recent Direct presentation. The game features a mix of classic and new courses within an open world environment. Beyond standard races, players can enjoy team-based races, time trials, and updated battle modes like Balloon Battle and Coin Runners. New gameplay mechanics include a charge jump, wall riding, and a rewind feature for course corrections. Innovative items like the Hammer Bro hammers, Ice Flower, and Coin Shell add strategic depth. The open world allows exploration, minigames triggered by P Switches, and a photo mode. Assist options like Smart Steering and tilt controls cater to diverse player skill levels. Players can collect food items to unlock themed outfits. Mario Kart World releases June 5th alongside the Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are expected soon.
