Mario Kart World for Switch 2 borrows Forza's rewind feature

Mario Kart World, a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title, was extensively showcased in a recent Direct presentation. The game features a mix of classic and new courses within an open world environment. Beyond standard races, players can enjoy team-based races, time trials, and updated battle modes like Balloon Battle and Coin Runners. New gameplay mechanics include a charge jump, wall riding, and a rewind feature for course corrections. Innovative items like the Hammer Bro hammers, Ice Flower, and Coin Shell add strategic depth. The open world allows exploration, minigames triggered by P Switches, and a photo mode. Assist options like Smart Steering and tilt controls cater to diverse player skill levels.
