Mario Paint comes to Nintendo Switch Online and, yes, it has mouse controls

The Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con mouse controls might find their killer app in the classic SNES game Mario Paint. Mario Paint, recently added to Nintendo Switch Online, exclusively utilizes mouse controls. Original Switch owners can also use a USB mouse plugged into the dock. The game allows players to color existing images, create original art, and make animations. It also features a bug-swatting mini-game to test pointing accuracy. A significant draw is Mario Paint's iconic music creator, with some tracks now available in the Nintendo Music app. Control remapping has also been added to the Nintendo Switch Online SNES app, improving accessibility. While other games like Drag x Drive and Civilization VII show promise, Mario Paint's unique control scheme makes it a standout candidate. This retro title perfectly showcases the potential of precise pointer input on the Switch.
