Massive Pokémon leak exposes beta designs, source codes and plans for upcoming titles

Game Freak, the developer of Pokémon, has confirmed that it suffered a breach in August, resulting in the leak of sensitive employee information. The company discovered the hack in August and has since strengthened its security measures. A massive leak of internal materials, including source codes and character designs, has been published online. The leaked documents and images, known as the "Teraleak" files, include source codes for past games such as Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The leak also reveals codenames for upcoming games, including "Ounce" and "Gaia" for the Gen 10 Pokémon games. Additionally, the leak includes references to an in-development Pokémon MMO and internal discussions from design meetings. Details on an unreleased Detective Pikachu sequel and other planned Pokémon movies and anime series have also been exposed. The leak has revealed tons of beta character designs and concept art, showcasing the scope of the breach. Game Freak has apologized to those affected by the breach, which includes over 2,600 current and former workers whose personal information was accessed. Neither Nintendo nor The Pokémon Company has publicly acknowledged the leak yet.
