Meeting highlights from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) 18-21 May 2026

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended eight new medicines for approval in May 2026. These included positive recommendations for Boey, Etcamah, Jascayd, and Vijoice. Also approved were hybrid medicines like Ablymico, Liraglutide STADA, and Colchicine AGEPHA Pharma. A new biosimilar medicine, Vislyfa, also received a positive recommendation. The EMA also issued a negative recommendation for Deqtynet. Several existing medicines had positive recommendations for extensions of their therapeutic indications, including Braftovi, Enhertu, and Erbitux. These recommendations await a final decision from the European Commission. Marketing authorization applications for Veblocema and Orblid were withdrawn. Further updates include information on Wegovy and a review of invented names.
