The European Medicines Agency's (EMA) human medicines committee, CHMP, recommended five new medicines for approval in April 2026. These recommendations include Cenrifki for non-relapsing secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, and Itvisma for treating 5q spinal muscular atrophy. Additionally, Redemplo was recommended for familial chylomicronaemia syndrome treatment. Rexatilux, a biosimilar of ranibizumab, was recommended for treating wet age-related macular degeneration. Palbociclib Viatris, a new generic, was recommended for breast cancer treatment. The CHMP also issued positive recommendations for extending the therapeutic indications of several existing medicines. These included Agamree, Aquipta, Comirnaty, Crysvita, Inaqovi, Opdivo, Privigen, Skyrizi, and Venclyxto. One marketing authorization application, Viokat, was withdrawn during this meeting. Another application, for Pluvicto, requested a change in the marketing authorization, was also withdrawn. This meeting also included questions and answers regarding the assessment of Opdualag.
