Meeting highlights from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) 22-25 June 2026

The European Medicines Agency's human medicines committee recommended six medicines for approval at its June 2026 meeting. The committee recommended Aujemflu, Hopledo, Onswik, Denosumab Ascend, Nylaspeg, and Daybu for approval. Aujemflu is used for influenza prevention, Hopledo for Parkinson's disease treatment, and Onswik for type 2 diabetes treatment. Denosumab Ascend and Nylaspeg are biosimilar medicines used for preventing skeletal related events and reducing neutropenia, respectively. Daybu is used for the treatment of a specific condition, although the exact condition is not specified. The committee also recommended extensions of therapeutic indications for several medicines, including Datroway, Imvanex, and Jaypirca. Additionally, the committee started a referral procedure for Rifadin oral suspension and syrup and concluded a referral procedure for Tavneos, recommending the revocation of its marketing authorization. The agency also provided an update on the assessment of Mounjaro for reducing the risk of serious heart and blood circulation events. The recommendations made by the committee are subject to review and approval by the European Commission.
