The European Medicines Agency's human medicines committee, CHMP, recommended twelve new medicines for approval at its July 2026 meeting. The committee provided positive recommendations on new medicines, including Evlarco, Icotyde, Lynavoy, Lyrokaul, Nezglyal, Susvimo, Ubeslo, and Zokovea. These medicines are intended to treat various conditions, such as cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy, primary biliary cholangitis, and COVID-19. The CHMP also recommended a new biosimilar medicine, Cavoley, and new generic medicines, including Riociguat Accord, Ruxolitinib Viatris, and Tafamidis Accord. Additionally, the committee provided positive recommendations on extensions of therapeutic indications for several medicines, including Enhertu, Jivi, and Piqray. However, the CHMP issued negative recommendations for new medicines, such as KemSu, Meplyffa, and Qezzaqar. The committee also noted the withdrawal of applications for recommendations on new medicines, including Azacitidine Adienne, and the withdrawal of applications for extensions of indications, including Dupixent and Imfinzi. The CHMP meeting also included an overview of invented names reviewed in June 2026 by the Name Review Group. The recommendations made by the CHMP will now be sent to the European Commission for a final decision.
