Meow Wolf is bringing its immersive art experience to New York City

Meow Wolf, an immersive entertainment company, is known for its wild art installations and is now headed to New York City with a brand new otherworldly museum. The company has already operated five distinct experiences in various cities, including Las Vegas, Grapevine, Texas, Houston, Denver, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Meow Wolf New York will be the company's seventh museum overall and is expected to be its biggest investment yet. The museum's opening date has yet to be announced, but it will be located in Manhattan's Pier 17, chosen for its proximity to public transit and rich cultural history. Meow Wolf CEO Jose Tolosa expressed excitement about creating a unique experience that reflects the city's rich arts and cultural landscape. The company was founded in 2008 as a local art collective and has since evolved into a national, multimillion-dollar company. Meow Wolf's first large-scale interactive museum, House of Eternal Return, was opened in 2016 in Santa Fe and was made possible with the help of a $3 million investment from Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin. The company has raised over $400 million in funding and has become a major player in the experience economy, which emphasizes the value of live experiences over material possessions. Meow Wolf's museums have been incredibly successful, with the House of Eternal Return making three times its projected revenue in its first year and drawing large crowds. The company plans to push the boundaries of immersive entertainment with Meow Wolf New York, which is expected to be a unique and unforgettable experience that showcases the city's grandeur and international position.
