🌍 MGCI Newsletter – July 2026

The MGCI community continues to thrive through connection and collaboration. Recent general sessions focused on building effective sponsorships and finding quality speakers. The sponsorship session challenged the idea that event issues stem from the event itself, suggesting the problem lies in the sponsorship product offered. Key takeaways emphasized valuing practitioners, moving beyond tiered sponsorship models, identifying renewing sponsors, and driving commitment before events conclude. The speaker selection training highlighted intentional curation, emphasizing discovery, outreach, and building balanced lineups. TechCon365 Chicago demonstrated the power of in-person learning and community-driven insights, while also celebrating Paul Papanek Stork's significant contributions. Upcoming July sessions include a discussion on CollabDays Poland and training on event food logistics. MGCI will observe a summer break in August, encouraging members to plan events and submit sessions. CommunityDays.org remains a central hub for discovering numerous upcoming free, low-cost, and paid community events globally. The future of MGCI hinges on members sharing knowledge, onboarding new participants, and fostering cross-community collaboration.
