Microsoft is Replacing Remote Desktop With Its New Windows App

Microsoft is discontinuing support for its Remote Desktop app for Windows on May 27th, requiring users to switch to the new Windows app. The new app, launched in September, offers features such as multimonitor support and dynamic display resolutions, making it a suitable replacement. Users who connect to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Microsoft Dev Box machines via the Remote Desktop app will need to transition to the new app to maintain access. After May 27th, connections to these services via the old app will be blocked.
