Microsoft has actively recruited over 20 AI employees from Google's DeepMind division, intensifying the talent war in the emerging AI sector. The former head of engineering for Google's Gemini chatbot, Amar Subramanya, recently joined Microsoft as corporate vice-president of AI. He joins other DeepMind staff like engineering lead Sonal Gupta, software engineer Adam Sadovsky, and product manager Tim Frank. In total, Microsoft has hired at least 24 DeepMind employees in the last six months.
