Microwave-field quantum metrology with inherent robustness against detection losses enabled by Rydberg interactions

Rydberg atoms provide both quantum metrological and computational applications, but despite the efforts, the combination of the two has not yet translated into practical applications. Here, the authors demonstrate a microwave-sensing protocol based on collective Rydberg states, where the interatomic interactions allow implementation of inherent error protection.
