Midjourney has launched the alpha version of V7, a new AI image generation model with improved text prompt processing. V7 produces higher quality images with better textures, bodies, and especially more realistic hands. A new "Draft Mode" allows for faster, less detailed image generation at half the cost, ideal for brainstorming. V7 will initially feature Turbo and Relax modes for standard rendering, with standard speed optimization coming later. Some features like upscaling and editing will temporarily rely on the V6 model. Midjourney plans to release updates for V7 every week or two over the next couple of months. Accessing V7 requires users to unlock their personalization profile by ranking at least 200 image pairs. This personalization feature learns user preferences and influences the AI's image creation style. Draft mode is touted as a tool for fast and fluid ideation, even with voice input. Personalization is enabled by default for V7, but users can disable it if desired.
