Minimum Usage in Azure App Testing

Azure App Testing is implementing a minimum Virtual User Hour (VUH) charge for load tests, starting March 1, 2026. This change aims to improve the efficiency of test infrastructure and reduce costs. The minimum VUH requirement is 10 Virtual Users (VUs) per engine for the test run duration. If the test run is less than 10 minutes, the minimum is 10 VUs per engine for 10 minutes. This change only affects load tests, not Playwright tests within Azure App Testing. Users whose test runs already meet or exceed this minimum will not be impacted. Examples illustrate how the minimum charge applies based on user count, engine count, and test duration. To avoid extra charges, users are advised to review test configurations. They should reduce engine counts for low-user, high-engine tests. They should also increase user count or duration for short-duration or low-user tests. The pricing page and calculator will be updated to reflect these changes. Users needing technical assistance should submit a support request in the Azure portal. The goal is to encourage both effective and cost-efficient load testing.
