Moca Foundation Announces Moca Chain For Self-Sovereign, Privacy-Preserving ID And user Verification

Moca Foundation has announced the launch of Moca Chain, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for identity and user data, which will support the development of identity protocols in various industries. The blockchain will enable individuals, devices, and AI agents to control and verify their digital credentials without relying on centralized platforms. Moca Chain is expected to launch its testnet and mainnet in Q3 and Q4 2025, respectively, and will operate as a modular, EVM-compatible chain. The blockchain will utilize MOCA Coin as its core token for various fees, including gas, validator staking, and storage. According to Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands, Moca Chain aims to solve the problem of centralized single sign-on, which compromises security and allows operators to extract value from users' digital selves. Moca Chain will work alongside Moca Network's AIR Kit to create a digital ecosystem where users can own their data, reputations, and contributions. The project seeks to disrupt current models of data ownership and return value to users who generate it. Moca Chain will support various use cases, including healthcare, recruitment, finance, and advertising, and will enable users to prove their identity and safeguard their data in a unified identity framework. The blockchain's composable identity layer will support seamless movement of user attributes across multiple dApps, enabling users to unlock access and rewards across platforms without exposing private data. By giving users decentralized true ownership of their data, Moca Chain aims to empower individuals to control and benefit from their online activities and personal data.
