Despite recent advances in X-ray imaging, resolving ultrafast X-ray-induced structural dynamics in individual nanoparticles remains challenging. Here, the authors advance two-color X-ray imaging schemes with XFELs to probe those dynamics in helium nanodroplets by introducing a new computational image-separation method.
