More ways we’re making Chrome faster

Chrome's core principle of speed has driven recent performance enhancements. Technical improvements have resulted in a 10% increase in Apple's Speedometer benchmark. Improved HTML parsing, optimized features, and efficient pointer compression contributed to this boost. Chrome's JavaScript engine, V8, and garbage collector, Oilpan, have also undergone optimizations. Frequently accessed objects are now placed at the beginning of memory bases for faster access. Chrome on Android has been optimized for a small footprint, but a version targeting high-end devices is now available. This version uses compiler flags tuned for speed, resulting in a 30% faster Speedometer benchmark on capable devices. Chrome's speed enhancements aim to improve the overall browsing experience for users.
