Twelve South, an accessory maker for Apple products, has launched the AirFly Drive. This new accessory converts wired CarPlay into wireless CarPlay. The AirFly Drive connects your iPhone to your vehicle using Wi-Fi, removing the need for a USB-C cable. It costs $39.99 and plugs into a USB data port in your car. The compact aluminum cube has a USB-A port and includes a USB-C adapter. Once paired, it automatically reconnects your iPhone for wireless CarPlay each time the vehicle starts. No app or charging is necessary for its operation. A button on the device allows for easy switching between two paired iPhones. Before initial use, you must forget the device in your vehicle's Bluetooth settings. The AirFly Drive is compatible with iPhones running iOS 10 or newer and any car with factory-supported wired CarPlay.
