Microsoft has launched a new certification for Windows Server administrators. This certification has been renamed the Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate Certification. It consolidates skills previously covered by two separate exams into a single exam, AZ-802. This new exam validates expertise in deploying, managing, securing, and troubleshooting Windows Server across hybrid environments. Candidates should possess experience with technologies like Active Directory, Azure Arc, Hyper-V, and PowerShell. The beta version of Exam AZ-802 is currently available with a limited-time discount. The first 300 individuals to take the beta exam before July 22, 2026, can receive an 80% discount using code AZ802Chandler. This discount is not available in all regions. The previous exams, AZ-800 and AZ-801, will be retired in September 2026. Holders of the existing Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Certification are not required to take immediate action. The new certification is designed to reflect modern hybrid and cloud-integrated Windows Server administration skills.
