New MacBook Air Coming This Week: What to Expect

Apple CEO Tim Cook has teased a new product announcement, hinting at the release of new M4 MacBook Air models. The upcoming MacBook Air models are expected to come in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, with no notable design updates, and will likely look identical to the current models. The display technology is expected to remain the same, using Liquid Retina Display, although a nano-texture matte display upgrade option might be offered. The M4 chip, which has already been seen in other Apple products, will power the new MacBook Air models, offering modest improvements in CPU and GPU performance. The RAM will start at 16GB, and battery life is expected to see gains due to the efficiency improvements of the M4 chip. The FaceTime camera might be updated to a 12-megapixel front-facing camera, supporting Center Stage and Desk View features. The new MacBook Air models could get three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an upgrade from the current two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Pricing is expected to remain the same, starting at $1,099, and the M2 MacBook Air might be discontinued.
