Xcode 26 Beta 7 introduces enhanced AI capabilities for developers. Users can now integrate their paid Claude accounts directly into Xcode through the Intelligence settings panel. This allows for the use of Claude Sonnet 4 within the development environment. Furthermore, the ChatGPT integration in Xcode has been updated with new model options. Developers can now initiate conversations using either GPT-4.1 or GPT-5, with GPT-5 being the default. Xcode offers two ChatGPT model choices: GPT-5 for quick, high-quality results and GPT-5 (Reasoning) for more complex tasks requiring deeper analysis. The GPT-5 model in Xcode corresponds to the "minimal" reasoning level in the OpenAI API. Conversely, GPT-5 (Reasoning) aligns with the "low" reasoning level. This rapid integration of ChatGPT, from its launch to Xcode support, highlights the quick pace of development. Beyond these built-in features, Xcode 26 also empowers developers to utilize API keys from other AI models and run local models on Apple Silicon Macs.
