NYC Pride Parade 2025: Route, time, themes, and how to watch live for free

The month of June is dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and its contributions to society, while also reflecting on the struggles faced by the community and the work still to be done against intolerance. The NYC Pride March, which takes place on June 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET, is a significant event that honors the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising of 1969. The march has its roots in activism, and its theme this year, "Rise up: Pride in Protest," is a defiant reaction to the current anti-DEI climate. Despite some companies scaling back their support due to the political climate, the event remains important. The march will begin at 26th Street and 5th Avenue and conclude at 15th Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan, and it is free to attend. Those who cannot attend in person can watch the event on WABC-TV or stream it on abc7NY at 12 p.m. ET. The event's grand marshals include Karine Jean-Pierre, Marti Gould Cummings, DJ Lina, Elisa Crespo, and Trans formative Schools. The NYC Pride March is a celebration of identity and a powerful statement of resistance, affirming that justice and equity will ultimately prevail for those who live and love on the margins. The event has a rich history, dating back to the Stonewall Inn raid in 1969, which sparked a weeklong protest and helped invigorate the modern gay rights movement. In 1999, President Bill Clinton declared June Pride Month, and in 2016, President Barack Obama made the Stonewall Inn a national monument.
