Meta has announced a new collaboration with Oakley to release improved smart glasses with enhanced features. The glasses have a maximum battery life of up to eight hours on a single charge, double that of the previous Ray-Ban Meta glasses. The included charging case provides up to 48 additional hours of recharging on the go and supports rapid charging. The Oakley Meta glasses increase the recording resolution from 1080p to 3K and retain core features such as integrated open-ear speakers and Meta AI for voice-activated assistance. The glasses are designed for sport and outdoor use, with an IPX4 rating for protection against sweat and light splashes. At launch, five frame and lens configurations will be available, including colorways such as black, brown smoke, clear, and warm grey. The limited-edition launch model is priced at $499, while other styles will start at $399 and roll out later in the summer. The glasses will be available for preorder on July 11 in 15 markets, with plans to expand to India, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates by the end of the year. The glasses are prescription-ready for an additional fee.
