OLED MacBook Air Expected in 2028

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports Apple plans to update the MacBook Air with an OLED display in 2028. This transition is part of a broader shift to OLED across Apple's iPad and MacBook lineup. The iPad mini, MacBook Pro, and iPad Air will likely adopt OLED before the MacBook Air. Apple already uses OLED displays in the iPad Pro, however, the standard low-cost iPad will not receive OLED. The MacBook Pro's next redesign, potentially later this year, will bring an OLED display, possibly with touchscreen capabilities. The MacBook Air will soon receive M5 chips but will retain its LCD display. The first OLED MacBook Air will likely feature M7 chips. OLED displays offer benefits like brighter screens, deeper blacks, and improved power efficiency. This transition to OLED will significantly enhance the MacBook Air's display quality and overall performance.
