Optimizing Safe Browsing checks in Chrome

Follow
Chrome is implementing changes to improve security and browsing experience: - Safe Browsing checks will become asynchronous, allowing pages to load while real-time server checks are ongoing, reducing page load time. - This allows for the use of AI and ML to enhance phishing and social engineering attack detection. - Local checks for browser exploits will still be synchronous, and users are encouraged to update Chrome promptly. - Sub-resource checks will be removed as they have become less common and other protection measures are now in place. - PDF download checks have been significantly reduced as PDF exploitation has declined and other protective measures are available. These changes aim to improve performance, enhance security, and reduce network traffic. Chrome will continue to monitor threats and adjust measures accordingly to ensure user safety online.
