Two separate incidents involving high-value technology shipments from Silicon Valley to Southern California resulted in theft. Both trucks were accompanied by unmarked escort vehicles driven by private security. In one instance, the escort vehicle was rear-ended in a hit-and-run, forcing it to stop. The other escort was immobilized by a deliberate PIT maneuver, causing it to spin out. Pachuca, who learned of the thefts from law enforcement, states that everyone believes these "accidents" were intentional. After losing their escorts, the semitrucks continued their journeys, but not to their intended destinations. The trucks and their contents, millions of dollars in data center gear, were never recovered. These events highlight a growing vulnerability in the transport of valuable tech.
