Chromium poisoning and sluggish oxygen kinetics limit oxygen electrodes in reversible solid oxide cells. Here, the authors report a triple-barrier perovskite that suppresses Sr segregation, traps chromium, and tunes surface chemistry, enabling strong chromium tolerance and long-term stability.
