People Skills: Expanding skills intelligence to more users and surfaces across Microsoft 365

Launched in June 2025, People Skills is a core component of Microsoft 365, powering Copilot and other features. This AI-driven system infers skills from work activities, creating automatically updated skill profiles. Microsoft is expanding People Skills to more users, now including Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 license holders. Skills data is being integrated into new Copilot agents like Learning and Workforce Insights. Admins gain more control, with the ability to enable features for specific groups and import custom skill libraries. People Skills will soon be integrated into the Teams profile card, enhancing collaboration. The Learning and Workforce Insights agents utilize skills data for personalized learning and workforce analysis. Admins can control user experiences through targeted deployments, and can upload custom skill libraries from local files. Early adopters are using People Skills for AI skills in workflows, data-driven workforce planning, and project staffing.
