Philips Hue Line Gains Bridge Pro, New Bulbs, Updated Outdoor Lights and More
Signify has announced a suite of new Philips Hue products launching this fall. The updated Hue Bridge Pro offers support for significantly more lights and accessories with enhanced processing power. A key new feature is Motion Aware, which uses Zigbee signal changes between multiple bulbs to detect motion and activate lights. The Philips Hue Essential line introduces more affordable A19 and BR30 bulbs for new users, offering core functionality with some limitations compared to premium bulbs. Updated A19 bulbs boast improved daylight replication, dimming, and energy efficiency, all featuring Matter over Thread connectivity. New OmniGlow LED light strips are designed for spot-free, diffused lighting suitable for various applications. Outdoor lighting expands with permanent string lights and globe string lights, both durable and weather-resistant. The Hue Secure lineup is growing with a video doorbell and smart chime, though these devices lack HomeKit compatibility. Hue Secure is also receiving software improvements, including free 24-hour video history and future AI-powered facial recognition. Finally, a partnership with Sonos will enable integrated light and sound experiences and voice control of Hue lights through Sonos Voice Control.
