Plaud’s NotePin is another AI wearable for remembering everything

Plaud, the company behind the AI-powered voice recorder Note, is launching a new wearable device called the NotePin. The NotePin is a voice recorder in a wearable form, designed to be worn around the neck, pinned to the chest, strapped to the wrist, or clipped anywhere. It aims to transcribe, summarize, and extract action items from meetings and daily life. The device has a battery life of up to 20 hours of continuous recording and requires manual activation to start recording, ensuring privacy. Plaud's first product, the Note, is a voice note tool that attaches to the back of a phone, records voice notes or calls, and transcribes and summarizes them. The NotePin improves on this with its wearable form factor, encouraging users to use it more frequently. The NotePin costs $169, with basic AI features available for free and advanced features like summary templates and speaker labeling available for $79 a year. The success of the NotePin will depend on its software, which needs to effectively manage and utilize the recorded information. The device is part of the growing trend of AI wearables, which can be categorized into companionship devices or productivity devices, with the NotePin falling into the latter category.
