Amazon Polly has launched a significant upgrade to its Generative engine, enhancing speech naturalness and accuracy with reduced latency. This update introduces an expanded voice portfolio featuring higher overall quality. Fourteen new voices have been added across nine locales, including the first-time availability of Hindi and Finnish voices on the Generative engine. The new voices cater to various languages and locales, such as US English, Australian English, Hindi, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, and Finnish. This model upgrade ensures more reliable pronunciation of complex content like numbers and addresses, minimizing the need for manual adjustments. Users can continue to utilize Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) tags for customized speech output. The low-latency streaming API is beneficial for real-time applications like contact center experiences and chatbots. The diverse voice options are also ideal for media, e-learning, and accessibility needs. Furthermore, the Generative offering now extends to AWS GovCloud, serving public sector and regulated industries. These new voices are accessible in multiple AWS Regions globally.
