Power BI is extending the retirement of its legacy natural-language querying feature, Q&A, from December 2026 to February 2027. This extension allows users more time to transition to newer Copilot-powered solutions. The retirement affects Q&A in reports, dashboards, mobile apps, and embedded analytics. Q&A Setup will also be retired, with Prep Data for AI as the alternative. After February 2027, Q&A will cease to function, and visuals will display errors. Copilot is now available across all Fabric capacities starting at F2, including Fabric Copilot Capacity, widening access for Pro license users. However, there are currently no Copilot replacements planned for embedded PaaS Q&A scenarios. Organizations using embedded Q&A should explore alternatives like Copilot for SaaS, Narrative visuals, or Fabric IQ MCP Server. Copilot is not yet supported in sovereign clouds due to GPU availability. Customers are advised to inventory Q&A dependencies, identify migration paths, and confirm Copilot availability in their region. Planning and testing these transitions early are crucial for a smooth migration before the February 2027 retirement.
