Retail game copies are preferred for hacking as they are less easily patched than digital downloads. Prices for used copies have surged on platforms like eBay, reaching over $400. This is a significant increase from its initial sale prices. Sellers are taking advantage of the game's new importance in the jailbreaking world. The game's scarcity also contributes to its inflated value. Limited Run Games produced just 8,500 copies of the game, making it a collector's item to begin with. The limited availability further fuels the price increase, especially while interest in the PS5 jailbreak remains high.
