Psychonauts developer’s trippy island adventure Keeper comes out on October 17

Double Fine Productions has announced a new game called Keeper, which was showcased during the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025. The game is a third-person adventure that follows a magically reassembled lighthouse with legs as it ventures towards a central mountain peak on an island. The game has no dialogue, but features a seabird companion that helps the player on their mission. The lighthouse's beam of light can interact with the island's wildlife, while the seabird can take care of other tasks. The game's vibrant and striking visuals might appeal to fans of the Psychonauts franchise. However, the company has confirmed that it is not working on Psychonauts 3. Keeper will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud, Xbox Game Pass, and Steam on October 17. The game's storyline is still largely unknown, but the trailer suggests a mysterious and adventurous tone. Keeper's quirky gameplay and visuals make it a departure from typical AAA titles. Overall, Keeper looks like a fun and original gaming experience.
