red chili powder substitute

Trying to make Chicken Tikka Masala for the first time tonight. The recipe I’m using calls for Red chili powder in the chicken marinade. I live in a very rural area and we only have a small grocery store (Albertsons), and the closest WalMart is 1.5 hours away. Albertsons does not have any Red chili powder, just flakes, and recipe specifically says not Cayenne pepper. Is there anything I can use as a substitute for the Red chili powder? I don’t have a mortar and pestle (I think that’s what it’s called) to crush up the flakes or else I’d just do that. submitted by /u/Kenna_bowers02
