Microsoft is announcing the planned retirement of HPC Pack, a Windows-based scheduler for high-performance computing workloads. The retirement announcement date is August 27, 2026, with an End of Support date of August 27, 2027. After this date, HPC Pack will no longer receive feature updates, bug fixes, or product support. Azure Batch is the recommended supported platform for managed HPC and parallel workloads in the cloud. Customers can also adopt other Azure services as needed. During the retirement period, Microsoft will provide limited support, primarily focusing on security responses and guidance based on existing documentation. Non-security bug fixes, performance improvements, new features, and custom modifications will not be provided. Customers should begin planning their migration to a supported alternative as soon as possible. Engaging with Microsoft account teams or Cloud Solution Architects is advised for planning assistance and migration guidance. Feedback on challenges anticipated during the transition can be submitted to help refine future communications. Existing HPC Pack deployments will remain functional but will be considered unsupported after the End of Support date.
