Ricardo Breceda's Art Gallery features a wide range of detailed metal sculptures, including dinosaurs, aliens, cowboys, and Superman, that are scattered across the open landscape. The sculptures showcase Breceda's attention to detail, beauty, and variety. Breceda is most famous for his 130 metal sculptures at Galeta Meadows in Borrego Springs, which include a massive piece that spans the length of a street and crosses a street. His first artwork was a metal Tyrannosaurus Rex, which he created after she requested it for Christmas. Philanthropist Dennis Avery, who discovered Breceda's work, commissioned him to create sculptures depicting prehistoric life in the Anza-Borrego Desert. Breceda, who grew up in Durango, Mexico, was previously a cowboy boot salesman and is influenced by the rugged landscapes and cowboy culture of his youth. He is friendly and fun to talk to, and his art is available for sale. Breceda also accepts commissions if given a photo or drawing. Visitors can walk among the metal sculptures and experience the beauty and detail of Breceda's work.
