Right-Wing Activists Pushed False Claims About Election Fraud. Now They’re Recruiting Poll Workers in Swing States.

Right-wing strategists are focusing on recruiting poll workers for the 2024 election, aiming to have direct access to the voting process. This effort is led by groups such as the Election Integrity Network, True the Vote, and The Lion of Judah, which is working to place conservative Christians in polling places. These groups claim to be concerned about election fraud, but experts warn that their actions could lead to further distrust in the electoral system. The Lion of Judah offers a free course titled "Fight the Fraud" that includes modules on poll workers' duties and finding local election offices to apply as poll workers. It also has a hotline for reporting perceived fraud, which could violate state laws and oaths of office. True the Vote has created an app called VoteAlert for submitting complaints and concerns on Election Day, which includes a disclaimer that users agree to follow federal and state laws.
