Rivian made an electric ambulance for Grey's Anatomy

The American transition to electric vehicles faces challenges, but Hollywood is contributing to the cause. Rivian collaborated with the television show Grey's Anatomy to create a custom electric ambulance. This "vanbulance" is built from Rivian's Commercial Van, modified for the show's needs. The electric vehicle aims to eliminate exhaust fumes on set, protecting the production crew. The ambulance's design also incorporates a green storyline within the series' narrative. Modifications include removable panels for camera access and double doors instead of a roll-up door. Rivian consulted with fire departments to optimize the interior layout for real-world scenarios. Custom lighting and exterior branding were added for the show. The electric ambulance debuted in an earlier episode but was more prominently featured recently. This initiative demonstrates a step towards incorporating EVs into fictional settings.
