Roblox is making changes for pre-teen users after reports that it failed to protect children

Roblox is introducing new parental controls and insights to enhance user safety, especially for younger users. Parents will be able to manage their child's experience on Roblox through their own device, view and update parental controls, and access insights about their child's usage. Existing parental email settings will remain for account recovery purposes. Users under 13 will need parent permission to access certain chat features, and those under 9 will need permission to access experiences with "Moderate" content labels. Parents will receive notifications about these updates and will need to set up a Roblox account with parent privileges to continue receiving account-related notifications.
